The Event Team is back from the Terra Verde Open House. The Terra Verde ranch is located in Umatilla Florida adjacent to the Ocala National Forest! The home was originally built in 1971; although the home was structurally sound it was not energy efficient. Dr. Anna Marie bought the ranch and has taken on the task of turning Terra Verde into a green, eco friendly and ultimately a healthy home.
Dr. Anna Marie is President/Executive Producer of Facci Bella Productions. lighting is great as they have a long life span, use minimal electricity and don’t emit a lot of heat. The home is cooled by geothermal cooling. This is a process where the hot air is pumped out of the house and cool air is brought back into the house from the ground. The home is kept at a constant temperature of the soil and water located in the pastures of Terra Verde. In order to keep the cool air in and the warm air out Dr. Anna Marie had the windows replaced. The original windows to the home were single pane aluminum windows. Aluminum windows are not considered energy efficient or green for that matter. FAS Windows and Doors installed Simonton Vinyl Windows and Sliding Glass Doors with a low E 366. Low E 366 glass blocks 95% of the suns damaging UV rays as well as reduces heat gain by 64% when compared to other glass. When speaking to Dr Anna Marie she mentioned what a tremendous drop she had in her energy usage once the windows were installed.
