The term “going green” has become a phrase that everyone has heard somewhere. If it’s bringing your own bags to the grocery store, watering your lawn on certain days or even just turning the lights off when you leave the room, it seems that everyone is getting on these green initiatives.  There are many ways to go green in your home with many improvement projects you may have going on too. And this is not just about inconveniencing yourself because you care about the environment; there are obvious reasons for going green.

Look at the rising prices in gas and it’s affect on the goods we buy every day. If that’s not enough, you’ve probably noticed your electric bill going up, especially in relation to years past. Thankfully there are measures you can take to counter-act this. Replacing single pane windows with more energy efficient, double paned, low-e coated glass can dramatically reduce your heating and cooling costs, especially in the hottest months we experience in Florida.

Low-E Glass UV rays are minimized with Low-E glass.

Not only are you reaping the benefits of a lower energy bill, but you are also causing some positive, green side effects as well. Low-E glass protects against UV rays that can cause damage to curtains, paintings, carpet and so on. With effective windows cool air stays in, causing your air conditioning to have to work less, meaning less CO2 is being emitted into the atmosphere. And with these energy efficient windows we are also reducing the need for fossil fuels and move us towards energy independence.

"FAS replaced 3 windows and a sliding glass door in my home. The new windows are like night & day from what I had before. They kept the windows in the style I wanted and the slider glides perfectly. I can't wait til phase two. I will most definitely be rehiring FAS and their install crews for the next go around!"
