Why do we love Andersen High Performance™ Low-E4™ glass?
Andersen’s High Performance™ Low-E4™ glass includes 11 completely clear, microscopic coatings of titanium dioxide that not only act as a sunscreen, but also smooth the surface of the glass and act as a cleaning agent. This protective coating helps loosen the collection of dirt on the exterior surface with the help of a little bit of friendly sunlight to activate it. Sunlight can still be a friend to your home– since this product cuts UV transmission through the glass down to 17%, whereas ordinary double-pane glass allows 63% of sunlight to transfer through the glass, and into your home. This same layer of protection that decreases dirt buildup also reduces the beading behavior of water by up to 99%, meaning less unsightly water spots on your windows!
Andersen‘s High Performance™ Low-E4™ glass uses a low-conductivity spacer placed between two panes of glass, and that space between the panes is filled with argon gas to help reduce thermal transfer, meaning the transfer of heat from exterior to interior or vice versa.
High Performance™ Low-E4™ from Andersen offers 35% more protection from exterior cold in winter and 41% more protection from exterior heat than regular double-pane glass, making these products much more energy efficient during those extreme temperatures! Studies comparing homes with High Performance™ Low-E4™ versus homes with double-pane glass show energy bill savings of up to 25%. So, shout for joy in your living room, because High Performance™ Low-E4™ glass significantly reduces sound penetration compared to single-pane glass. Unless, of course, you want to share the happy news with your neighbors.
