Sophiep’s Take on Things….

What a start to the new year! If you have had the chance to attain last year’s energy tax credit, consider yourself lucky! The new energy tax for 2011 won’t be as generous. The tax credit amount is 10% of the cost without installation costs; windows are capped at $200 while doors are at $500. It will not apply to new construction, only your “principal home“, which is the home you own or reside in.

Between January 1st, 2011 and December 31st, 2011, only products with the Energy Star label will be qualified for the tax credit. Unlike last year, the determining factors were the U-factor Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). No worries for you, however. FAS offers replacement windows and doors under the top names in the industry that has Energy Star rated products. You can either install them yourself or have our amazing crew do all the work for you.

A tax credit is still money, less or more. Contact FAS Windows & Doors for your free in-home estimate now!
