Sophiep's Take on Things....

On May 15th, the annual Chef's Gala will take place at Epcot® World Showplace. This is a charity event benefiting Heart of Florida United Way. There will be fine dining and wine. Over 20 top local chefs will be feeding thousands of guests. Attendees can expect to loosen a few inches on their belts. (Click here to see full menu)

More than $170,000 was raised at last year's event. Chef’s Gala helps provide critical assistance to nearly 100 local health and human service programs supported by Heart of Florida United Way. This includes selected agencies that deal with hunger and homelessness. The proceeds also go towards thousands of local children, families and seniors who are struggling in today's troubled economy. This event makes a huge difference to the community.

In addition to amazing food and highly recommended paired wines, Chef's Gala includes an elegant silent auction featuring dozens of exclusive items, including:

A two-night, deluxe-room stay at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, including a spa visit, massages and dinner for two at the Bull & Bear Steakhouse
A luxury suite behind home plate for you and 18 friends at a Tampa Bay Rays game
Two round-trip tickets on Jet Blue Airways

It will start at 6:45 p.m. on May 15 with a sparkling wine reception. Tickets are $200 per individual and $1,850 for corporate ticket packages of 10 tickets.
