FAS will also attend the
Chalk Walk Festival. It will take place on May 7 - 9 in Hyde Park Village in Tampa. More than 45 chalk artists and plein air artists will create original works and compete for cash prizes. The three-day festival will include live musical entertainment, children’s activities like face painting and a bounce house, as well as art and open-air market. There will also be a Chalk Tail Party on Friday and Saturday night with drink specials. In 2009, Chalk Walk’s television exposure reached over 330,000 television viewers.

On Mother’s Day, a prestigious panel of judges will announce the winners of the chalk art and plein air artist contest winners. The award will be a total of $2,600 in cash prizes and the People’s Choice award. The judges for this year's festival include Kendra Frorup (University of Tampa), Joanne Milani (Florida Museum of Photographic Arts), Maida Millan (West Tampa center for the Arts), and Kim Ross (Senior Vice President and Product Leader for Nielsen's Engineering and Technology group).
