The "S" in FAS Windows & Doors!
Last week Ernie and I had the privilege of being invited to the Andersen Executive Summit in Bayport Minnesota. Andersen Windows wanted to gather the leaders of their top Circle of Excellence dealers in one meeting to discuss the economic climate along with new products and ideas to cope with the recession we are all dealing with. The experience was fantastic, as we were able to share ideas with other business owners and the executive staff of Andersen Windows. They treated all of us like kings and queens and thanked us for all the business we provided them the past few years.
The main theme Andersen was presenting was Re-Think, Re-Build, Re-New.
Re-New: Andersen is suggesting that many dealers can recover lost revenues by getting into the replacement and remodel industries, though they are careful because they don’t want to force dealers to get into window replacement if it is not intended to be their main focus. We have recently found that many new window and door replacement dealers are popping up everywhere, just to get some business in the door and keep their heads above water. This exact reason is why FAS Windows & Doors should be an easy choice for to get an estimate from. Replacement windows have been our focus since we started our business 4.5 years ago.
Re-Think: Andersen put a lot of emphasis on utilizing technology and how important this is going to be in the future. Many of our competitors are not as technologically advanced as FAS Windows & Doors. You can see by our extensive website and marketing campaigns that FAS puts a lot of time into the presentation of our business. Since we opened our doors in 2005, we have been building a customer tracking database that can identify the status of every job, every permit, every service, and maintain customer notes in case there is an issue. All of our sales reps carry laptops so we can provide quotes in house, with the manufacturer’s software. Many of our competitors are not this advanced. FAS Windows & Doors is the leader in service, first because of our staff, but also because of the time and energy we put into our tracking systems. We don’t want any customer to feel like they don’t know what is happening with their job.
Re-New: Andersen is coming out with some new products in 6 months to 1 years time. They are going to introduce the A Series which will have more color and finishing options than the Andersen 400 series. Andersen is also introducing the 100 Series which is a more economical product designed to compete with the vinyl manufacturers. The Andersen 100 Series is made completely of Fibrex, The Fibrex composite frame and sash contain 40% pre-consumer reclaimed wood fiber, and the glass used contains 12% reclaimed glass, which makes this product very “green” and will qualify for the tax credit. We are very excited about this product as we will be able to offer it to consumers in a 100% installed package at a very economical price. You can get an authentic Andersen Window, Andersen Warranty, and Andersen Quality at a vinyl window price.
At FAS Windows & Doors we are always trying to be one step ahead of the ever changing game.
