FAS Windows & Doors also offers parts
for Andersen® windows and doors and we do
warranty work as well.
Andersen® windows and
patio doors can insulate a room as well as the walls that surround them.
Their High-Performance™
Low-E4™ glass works so much better than
ordinary dual-pane glass, it can reduce energy bills up to 25%,
depending on where you live. Better yet, if you remodel with them now,
you may qualify for a credit of up to $500 on your federal income tax.
Andersen® windows come in styles, shapes
and sizes to fit any purpose and every personality. With natural wood
interiors, low-maintenance exteriors and a host of elegant options, it's
no wonder professional builders and remodelers choose Andersen windows
more often than any other brand.
Energy Efficiency
Andersen windows can insulate a room as well as, or better
than, the walls that surround them. Andersen publishes standard
energy-efficiency performance ratings on all our products - ratings that
are consistently among the best in the industry. Homes with Andersen
windows and doors can dramatically reduce their heating and cooling
costs.
The best way to compare the energy efficiency of windows and patio doors
is to look at their NFRC labels. Any window worth buying will have the
label displayed.
Products with the Energy Star label are designed to use less
energy, help you save money on utility bills, and help protect
the environment.
UV
Protection
The Low-E4 (400 Series) glass in Andersen
windows works like a sun block to help protect your home and furniture
from ultraviolet (UV) light. Ordinary dual-pane glass lets 62% of UV
light pass through. Andersen's High-Performance Low-E4 glass cuts that
down to 17% with virtually no effect on the clarity and color of the
light. With Low-E4 glass, if your thermostat is set at 70 degrees, the
temperature of the innermost glass pane won't drop below 57 degrees even
if it's 0 degrees outside. In warm climates, Low-E4 glass works just as
hard to keep your home cool.
Low
Maintenance
Andersen windows and doors have tough protective shells that never need
painting. All Andersen windows and doors feature the Perma-Shield®
system which protects the window's exterior beautifully for decades (see
the Limited Warranty for details).
Wood-Clad
We believe windows and patio doors should be made of wood, but exterior
facings should be protected from the elements. That's why we manufacture
wood-clad windows and patio doors with vinyl exteriors. They offer
beauty, luxury and natural appeal while maintaining high standards of
weather resistance with an extra surface that lowers their maintenance
requirements. The interior wood allows you to retain an attractive paint
or stain finish indoors. Our basement windows feature Fibrex material, a
wood/polymer composite for best results at ground level.
Solid Wood
Construction
Andersen windows and doors use natural wood to create a timeless
combination of beauty and durability. Andersen wood interiors feature
superb styling with no visible finger joint seams. Natural wood provides
structural stability and is one of the most effective insulators
available. For added reliability we treat the frame and sash parts with
a wood preservative. Andersen interiors bring warmth into your home as
well as style with rich natural wood that you can stain or paint to
enhance the decor of any room. Fine craftsmanship, elegant styling and
precise detailing make the view of your windows as impressive as the
view from them.
Longevity
If a 1950s car was an Andersen window, parts could still be available
from the factory. Andersen expects their products to live well past
their warranty period. But kids still throw baseballs and even the most
durable materials can wear out eventually. That's why we can provide
replacement parts for our windows and doors, even ones that were
discontinued 50 years ago. Visit our Parts Catalog for a detailed list
of what's available.

Window and Door Testing
To make sure that their windows and doors last (see Limited warranty for
details), Andersen puts them through testing in the lab and the field
that few other windows endure. Some are exposed to wind speeds up to 155
MPH! Others face sudden temperature changes from -20F to 180F.
Non-prorated, Transferable Limited Warranty
Not all warranties are alike. The Andersen limited warranty can add
resale value to your home. Andersen stands by our products, and the
people who use them. Our limited warranty is know throughout the
industry as one of the most comprehensive and reliable backing policies
available. The limited warranty never loses value over its lifetime
because it is non-prorated. Being fully transferable, it can also add
real value should you decide to sell your home. Visit our Warranties
section for more information.
